this is probably the only assigned reading that i liked from school. super short and such an easy read!

listen, i bought this book at B&N and it was one of those blind dates books that was wrapped up and only had a description on it. it mentioned a bastard prince who was trained to be an assassin, so of course i was IN. when i unwrapped it, i judged the cover, HARD. but i was determined to get through it!! and let me tell you, it's one of my favorite fantasy books i've ever read!! it's adult (not spicy), so keep in mind the pacing!

HIGHLY recommend this book if you're into YA stories with a political undertone (as most of my favorites have). super underrated and the female lead is a badass!!! its a standalone too!!

need i say more? she is the IT girl for dystopian YA books and catching fire is a masterpiece!!!

i'm kind of biased because i love victoria aveyard, but i really loved this book. can't wait to get the next one!!!

literally my all-time favorite series. highly recommend getting ALL the way to the end of the first book before forming an opinion dhadjhsg
